Things to do
Schlesinger Associates – New York City is located conveniently on the northeast corner of prestigious 5th Avenue and infamous 42nd Street. Situated on 5th Avenue between The Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center and, on 42nd Street, between Times Square and Grand Central Station.
**A great tip: if you're wondering about hotels, restaurants or other destinations being in walking distance: one “street block” (example 42nd st. to 43rd st.) is approximately a 1 minute walk. One “avenue block” (ex: 5th ave to 6th ave) is an, approximately, 2 minutes walk. Also 20 “street blocks” (ex: 34th st. to 54th st.) is one mile, or about 20 minutes worth of walking.
Dining
New York City may not be the “restaurant capital of the world” (that honor goes to our sister San Francisco) but it's definitely the capital of the “worldly restaurants!” From Ethiopian Cuisine to Mexican Fusion; Thai Tapas to Chechen Classics, you can find just about anything in New York City! Shopping
Walking north on 5th Avenue between 40th Street and 59th Street , you'll find Manhattan's most coveted and infamous retailers mixed casually with today's most modern shops and designers. From department stores such as Henri Bendel, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks 5th Avenue and Lord & Taylor, to designers like Prada, Ungaro, Ferragamo, Versace, Gucci, Cartier, Harry Winston and the iconic Tiffany & Co. All mixed in with flagship stores from H & M, Banana Republic, the Gap, Brooks Brothers, Kenneth Cole, and many more. 5th Avenue Shopping ends at the 59th Street intersection with the classic toy emporium F.A.O. Schwartz and the brand new, architecturally stunning, Apple Store on the East Side of the Avenue, and the famed Plaza Hotel & Central Park on the West.
Heading down (South) 5th Avenue to 34th street, you'll find Express, Old Navy, Banana, Gap, H & M, many bargain shops surrounding the world–famous Macy's Herald Square, reportedly the world's largest store!
With a few short stops on one the local subway lines, you can be in Soho, shopping the trendiest, most influential shops in the fashion world!
Walking Distance Destinations
The Empire State Building is located on Fifth Avenue, just 8 blocks south of our facility. Romantic, historic, iconic: The Empire State Observatory Deck is currently open on weekdays from 10am to midnight. Some evenings until 2am. Admission is currently $14 for adults.

Rockefeller Center/Top of the Rock is located just 8 blocks north of our facility on 5th Avenue @ 50th Street. Rockefeller Center, with its world famous art deco murals, recently renovated and reopened its 70th floor observation deck with 360 degree views, after being closed for decades. 8am–midnight. Admission is currently $17.50 for adults.

Radio City Music Hall is located adjacent to Rockefeller Center on the corner of 50th and 6th Avenue. The most famous show hall left, this beautiful masterpiece of cultural and architectural history hosts the world's greatest musicians and shows, in addition to the stunning beauty and precision of the Radio City Rockettes!

Times Square starts just 2 blocks West of us, on 42nd Street @ 7th Avenue, and stretches up along 7th and Broadway from 42nd to 50th street, and with all the side streets, it's home to hotels, clubs, bars, shops and of course, the most famous (and infamous) theatrical productions.
Madison Square Garden – Just 2 blocks west to 7th Avenue and 9 blocks south to 33rd Street lies The Garden, the world's most famous arena. Home to the Knicks, Liberty and Rangers Sports Teams, and the premiere concert arena in North America. Located within the structure is also The Theatre at Madison Square Garden, host to many small venues shows and seasonal/annual theatrical productions, such as A Christmas Carol and The Wizard of Oz.

The MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) located at 11 West 53rd Street, only 11 blocks up 5th Avenue from our facility is a great getaway and worth every minute you can spare! Not only does it house one of the most impressive collections of modern art, but having been recently renovated, it is a work of art unto itself. Included in the regular collection are works by Dali, Monet, Leger, Johns, Van Gogh, Dada, Cezanne, Pollack and New York's own, Andy Warhol.

United Nations 191 different national flags proudly waving remind you that 18 acres of land within New York City's Manhattan Island are officially considered “International Territory” as the 39 story “glass–curtained” U.N. monolith presides calmly and futuristically over the East River. Brazilian–born architect Oscar Neimeyer and Swiss–born Le Corbusier's building & plaza, finished in 1953, were a modern marvel of glass and concrete architecture that still stands as an example of efficient, clean, stunning design.
Tours are available usually between 9:30 am and 4:30pm, every 30 minutes. From the facility on 42nd st., walk east to 1st avenue. (about a 10 minute walk)

Further Destinations
Ground Zero (formerly The World Trade Center/soon to be re–dedicated: Freedom Tower), located downtown 1 block west of Broadway, between Church and Liberty streets. Only the “E” (blue line) subway train stops at the new World Trade Center Station – (catch this 3 blocks west of the Facility at 42nd st. & 8th avenue). From Time Square Station (2 blocks west at 42nd st. & 7th Avenue), the Red Line subway trains (1/2/3) going downtown also stop at Chambers Street, about 2 minutes walk from the site.
South Street Seaport: A revitalized docking area for historic boats is home to a shopping center, exhibition space, restaurants, bars and the downtown TKTS Broadway Ticket Booth. Subway Trains: 2,3,4,5,J,Z,M to Fulton St. then walk east on Fulton to the river's edge. (about 2 – 3 minutes walk)
The Statue of Liberty/Liberty & Ellis Islands: Standing 151 feet above New York Harbor since 1886, you can catch a ferry to, or around, Liberty Island. Miss Liberty's inner tour is most often closed due to security concerns. There are also tours/ferries to Ellis Island, oft referred to as the “Gate to America.” Interesting fact: The Statue of Liberty's real and official name: “Liberty Enlightening the World”.
Catch the Ferry at Battery Park. Subway: 1 train from Times Square (2 block west at 42nd st. & 7th ave.)
The New York Stock Exchange/Wall Street/Federal Hall: Power, money, influence and history await at the NYSE on the corner of Wall and Broad Streets. Across the street: Federal Hall, where George Washington took his oath, becoming the first President of The United States.
Subway: catch the 4/5 from Grand Central Station (2 blocks east of the facility) downtown to Wall Street.
