Things to do

Welcome to The Research House, Wimbledon, home to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club who organise the world famous tennis tournament held in the  last week of June and first week of July.  The village is recognized as one of the most attractive London villages with beautiful common land, boutiques and village architecture.

The following is a listing for restaurants, things to do and shopping in and around Wimbledon. It is not by any means all-inclusive. If you are looking for something that you do not see here or a little further afield, please feel free to call us and we will help you.

Italian

Light House
75-77 Ridgway
Wimbledon Village
020 8944 6338
Offers a mélange of unusual foods from different cultures, creating new combinations with often startling, sometimes brilliant, results: Soy-braised duck leg with spiced apple & black bean ragout, bok choy & tamarind jus appears alongside tuna carpaccio with crunchy vegetables & yuzu dressing. The results remain good. A comfortable, if noisy, place to spend the evening, while the set lunch is exceptional value.

San Lorenzo Fuoriporta

United kingdom
Tel: +44 (0)20 8946 8463

Prices are above average, but so is the experience.

The real focus of the menu is fish with everything from lobster and crab through to tuna and swordfish. However, there are also many non-fish options such as spicy marinated baby chicken, liver with bacon or a steak. The wine list is mainly Italian.

The Fire Stables

Tootsies

A reliable choice.  Such reliability is best represented by the classic burger, lean and thick, served in a sourdough bun with brilliant fries, salad and relishes. It’s the best thing on the menu, but you can go off-piste with the more exotic chicken and goat’s cheese or chorizo and red pepper options, or leave burger country and choose ribs, kebabs or hearty salads.
